In the United Kingdom it is a legislative requirement that fall protection solutions and associated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are tested and re-certified annually by suitably qualified personnel. Industrial Rope Access solutions are required to be tested and re-certified on a six monthly basis:
- Cable based fall restraint and fall arrest systems in line with the requirements of BS EN 795 on a 12 monthly basis
- Single point anchorages for purposes of fall restraint and fall arrest in line with the requirements of BS EN 795 and BS 7883 on a 12 monthly basis
- PPE in line with the requirements of BS EN 365
- Industrial Rope Access systems and anchors in line with the requirements of BS EN 795 and BS 7883 on a 6 monthly basis
Gravity Solutions Limited maintain a detailed register of all fall protection and Industrial Rope Access systems installed and tested by us along with PPE supplied. We are able to compile a comprehensive test regime advising of imminent re-test dates, liase with client site personnel in order to access site and carry out the works and subsequently certify the equipment. In the event of a system test failure we include a comprehensive report of any defects accompanied by recommendations and costs to rectify the system.
